If you look carefully at the picture you can see a few of the 70 white doves created at Our Name is Mud. The doves have the names of all the victims of 9/11 handwritten on them. There are also red hearts (lower rt corner) which have the names of the children on the planes who were lost.

Kip Veasey of Our Name is Mud in NYC starts the front façade of the Memorial

Portion of the memorial in place prior to 2/11/02. Most of the original art work in place in Sept & Oct of 2001 was adhered to the fence with ribbon and , unfortunately, was stolen.

Some participants worked as a group — others alone.

The end of Day 1 & it had been really cold and windy. We worked in shifts to add wire to each tile (inside) and then wire the tiles to the fence and then to clip the wires (brrr!)

We really got a lot done!

Some of the studio owners

that participated in the installation.

Large angels created at Our Name is Mud to honour the heroes of 9/11. There are angels for the FDNY, NYPD, Port Authority, rescue workers, volunteers, etc. I think the angels are one of the most moving parts of the memorial.
